Piano and Drum Lessons

Teaching Guidelines:

-What’s expected from Students-

1.	First and foremost, now that you’ve decided to study piano and/or drums with me, you need to understand that practicing daily is very important. No matter how much talent you have or don’t have, you’ll only be able to play and improve if you practice.

2.	All students receive one lesson per week. You pay as you go. I’ll never collect money on a monthly basis.

3.	Cancellation of lessons. Please call me as soon as you know that you will miss a lesson. This will enable me to schedule another student who may have missed their lesson into your time slot. If possible, I can try to reschedule your lesson later that week. I don't charge for missed lessons, but please be considerate of my time and call me in advance that you will miss your lesson.

4.	If a student consistently misses lessons or takes more than a month off, I might not be able to hold their time slot and you might want to reconsider your level of commitment.

5.	Music Books and materials.: Students pay for

-What you can expect from me-

1.	All students will learn to read music. The three main goals for every piece is to play the correct notes, rhythms and play with a steady beat.

2.	As students progress, I will introduce harmony and theory concepts.

3.	I teach Classical , Popular, and jazz songs in the lessons.

4.	I believe that lessons should be fun and you’ll see that my teaching style is always positive in nature. If a student is unprepared, we’ll work on the song together. As students advance I’ll discuss how to practice.

5.	My cancellation: Since I am a performing musician, occasionally I am unable to teach. I usually know this in advance and will keep you posted if this happens.

6.	Piano Recital: Once a year I hold a piano recital for my piano students at the Absecon Methodist Church. All students are urged to attend but not forced. This gives all students a chance to perform in front of an audience. There is a small fee per student, just enough to cover my expenses. I never sell tickets. All friends and family are welcomed. The hall can hold 200 and students get to play on a Concert Grand Piano
